Chiropractors in Denton and Dallas, TX

WOLMED recently added new Chiropractors in our Denton and Dallas, TX offices.  The Denton Chiropractor is named Dr. Andrew Garrett, DC and the Dallas Chiropractor is named Dr. R.D. Holder, DC.  Both of these Chiropractic Doctors have owned successful work and auto injury clinics in the past and they bring a wealth of knowledge in those areas to WOLMED.

DOL Doctors in Dallas, TX

WOLMED in Dallas, TX specializes in work injuries, especially work injuries from the Department of Labor (DOL Injuries).  Treating injured workers in federal workers compensation is different from work injuries in Texas Workers Compensation.  The rules are very different.  The required forms are different.  Impairment Ratings (Schedule Awards) work differently too.  You really have to be careful when choosing a treating doctor in federal workers compensation because lots of doctors are very good at Texas Workers Compensation, but they may not have the specialized knowledge and specialized staff needed to do the best possible job for injured DOL patients.  What if your CA forms are filled out wrong?  For starters, that’s very bad.  This could cost you a lot of money in lost wages (at least temporarily) and if the mistake is serious enough, it could cost a person their job unnecessarily.  In DOL / Federal Workers Comp, the injured workers simply can’t afford these kinds of mistakes.  So, choose a doctor who is an expert in Federal Workers Comp / DOL.  This is critically important.

Dr. Helsten on the Texas Star Network

Great news everyone!  As of December 1, 2010, Robert Helsten, MD will be on Texas Mutual’s Texas Star Network for workers compensation.  In case you’re not aware, Texas Workers Compensation uses certified healthcare networks for workers comp injuries.  Roughly 35% of all injured employees in Texas are currently covered under these certified workers comp networks.  Texas Mutual’s Texas Star Network is by far the largest of all certified workers comp networks in Texas.  If you’re hurt at work, there’s a very good chance that if your company participates in a workers comp network, it’s with the Texas Star Network.  If so, this is very good news for you.  Here’s why.

Prior to this, if you live in the Denton area and you’re hurt on the job, your choices of treating doctor were very limited if you were in a workers compensation network.  But here comes December and Dr. Helsten wants to be your doctor.  He’s got emergency room experience, years and years of Texas  Workers Comp experience, and he’s an excellent Family Practitioner.
