WOL+MED partnered with The American Red Cross on Friday, April 16th for their first annual blood drive. The event ran from 12pm to 4pm and WOL+MED cooked fajitas, provided juice, and gave away door prizes in a drawing for those who participated. We had an excellent turnout with 31 donors out of the nearly 50 people who tried to donate. According to the nurses from the Red Cross, the average number of donors in similar blood drives was 15. That means that WOL+MED had 100% more donors than the average! In the past 6 months, WOL+MED associates helped to feed 4,000 people with the North Texas Food Bank, during the holidays, donated clothing to the Salvation Army, and now saved 93 lives with The American Red Cross. We have a lot of fun doing community projects like these and we appreciate everyone who helped make this one a huge success! We’ll be doing more things like this in the coming months, so keep an eye out for your opportunity to partner up with us and give back.

WOL+MED Blood Drive
Monday, April 19th, 2010WOL+MED is Giving Back in 2010
Monday, March 15th, 2010WOL+MED Medical is “Giving Back in 2010″. This is the theme we’re rallying around. We worked with the North Texas Food bank during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and provided 4,000 meals! In doing this, we realized that there’s a lot of charitable giving that we can do with such a large office staff. WOL+MED employs nearly 50 people in the Denton area and with such a large staff, we can do a lot of good. Next week, we’re doing a clothing drive with the Salvation Army. They will come to our office in Denton and pick up the clothing, which is very convenient and will help more of our folks give back. Next month (April 16th), WOL+MED will be hosting a blood drive with the America Red Cross and we’re setting a goal of 100 donors. We’ll have BBQ, cold drinks, and a drawing for those who donate. After this, we’ll be participating in another food drive with the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) that starts May 5th.
The employees at WOL+MED are very excited about the many opportunities we have available to give back. The events listed above are just the beginning to a very big year in 2010. We plan to be the most giving organization in the area this year.
